Machine-by-machine comparison
SBAL-V vs SBAL-III auto duct production lines
The two flagship rectangular duct lines from SBKJ. Detailed reference: SBAL-V vs SBAL-III comparison guide.
- SBAL-V line speed: 16 m/min, 87 kW total drive, single-operator U-shape continuous flow
- SBAL-III line speed: 14 m/min, 15.7 kW total drive, two-operator inline + separate TDF
- SBAL-V section size: 200–1500 mm wide, 0.5–1.5 mm gauge
- SBAL-III section size: 200–1500 mm wide, 0.5–1.2 mm gauge
- SBAL-V cycle time: ~3 minutes coil to crated section
- SBAL-III cycle time: ~5 minutes coil to crated section
- SBAL-V capital cost landed: USD 380,000-680,000
- SBAL-III capital cost landed: USD 280,000-450,000
- SBAL-V footprint: 25 m x 5 m primary line + 4 m x 3 m decoiler + 3 m exit buffer
- SBAL-III footprint: 18 m x 4 m primary + 3 m x 3 m decoiler + 2 m exit
- SBAL-V electrical load: 30-45 kW connected, 22-30 kW operating
- SBAL-III electrical load: 18-28 kW connected, 12-20 kW operating
- Crossover point: 25,000-30,000 m²/year — below = SBAL-III, above = SBAL-V on TCO
SBTF spiral tubeformer model lineup
Four standard models, choose based on largest expected diameter plus 25% headroom for project growth.
- SBTF-1500: Φ80-1500 mm, saw blade cutting, mainframe 5.5 kW + saw blade 4 kW, weight 1700 kg, dimensions 2800×2100×1200 mm. The entry-level workhorse for general commercial.
- SBTF-1500C: Φ100-1500 mm, plasma cutter + saw blade cutting, mainframe 5.5 kW + saw blade 1.2 kW + plasma 7.5 kW, weight 2500 kg, dimensions 3800×2100×1200 mm. Higher-spec galvanized + stainless work.
- SBTF-1602: Φ80-1600 mm, plasma cut and flying slitter, mainframe 15 kW + cooling pump 0.25 kW, weight 5000 kg, dimensions 3500×1700×1900 mm. Large-diameter commercial, hospital, data centre.
- SBTF-2020: Φ80-2500 mm, patented flying slitter + automatic length control, mainframe 22 kW + cooling pump 0.25 kW, weight 4500 kg, dimensions 3500×1800×1900 mm. Tunnel ventilation, mining, industrial.
- Stainless variant: 304 or 316 stainless option available across all four models — adds 8-15% to base machine price.
TDF flange former vs Pittsburgh lockformer
Most duct shops need both. They serve different functions in the duct fabrication workflow:
- TDF flange former (transverse flange): Roll-forms a TDF flange directly into the rectangular duct edge, replaces welded angle iron flange. Output approximately 4 m/min on 1.0 mm galvanised. Used for tight-leakage SMACNA Class A applications: data centre, semiconductor, pharma cleanroom, modern commercial. Capital cost landed USD 35,000-55,000.
- Pittsburgh lockformer (longitudinal seam): Forms the Pittsburgh lock seam that closes the rectangular section, the standard longitudinal seam for rectangular duct since the 1920s. Output approximately 8 m/min on 1.0 mm galvanised. Used on virtually all rectangular duct including modern. Capital cost landed USD 18,000-28,000.
