Duct Machinery

Spiral tubeformers, auto duct lines, flange forming and auxiliary machines. Each product has its own page with image, video, intro and technical data.

Every machine is built at the Jiangyin factory under an ISO 9001:2015 quality control system, HD demo footage is available on request through the video library, and real installation outcomes are documented in the case studies library. If you’re short-listing SBKJ against other HVAC duct machinery vendors, the why choose SBKJ page sets out the ten reasons buyers pick SBKJ plus the three scenarios where SBKJ isn’t the right fit. For transparent 2026 budget ranges, lead times and payment terms on every SBKJ machine family before you request a quote, see the pricing and lead time buyer guide. Not sure which configuration suits your project? The HVAC duct machinery by industry guide maps machine selection to the end-use vertical — with dedicated pages for data centers, cleanrooms and hospitals.

Buyer's guide

How to Choose HVAC Duct Machinery

Use this short framework to narrow the SBKJ catalogue down to the right machine for your project. If you would prefer a direct recommendation, send us your duct drawings and target throughput — an SBKJ engineer will reply with a shortlist within 12 hours.

1. Match duct geometry first

Round, rectangular and oval duct each demand a different forming process. Round spiral duct is produced on flying‑shear tubeformers (SBTF series). Rectangular duct is built on auto duct lines (SBAL, RDL) or pittsburgh lockformers. Oval duct is rolled on dedicated ovalizers from a circular blank.

  • Round ≤ 1500 mm → SBTF spiral tubeformer
  • Rectangular up to 2000 mm → SBAL auto duct line
  • Oval up to 1500 × 800 mm → SBHT ovalizer

2. Size to your daily throughput

Daily output is the most common reason customers under‑ or over‑specify a line. SBAL‑V handles up to 1,200 m²/day of TDF rectangular duct, RDL‑II up to 800 m²/day, and a single SBTF‑1500 spiral line up to 600 m of round duct per shift.

  • < 300 m²/day → SBAL‑III semi‑auto
  • 300–800 m²/day → SBAL‑V or RDL‑II
  • > 800 m²/day → multi‑line SBAL‑V cell

3. Pick the standard you must comply with

SMACNA, EN 1505/1506, AS/NZS 4254 and DW/144 each demand different reinforcement, tolerance and seam types. Tell us the standard on your enquiry — we configure the line tooling and PLC recipes accordingly so first‑article duct passes inspection.

  • SMACNA → Pittsburgh + TDF + cross‑break
  • EN 1505 → Slide‑on flange + class‑B leakage
  • AS/NZS 4254 → S‑cleat or TDF + bracing

4. Decide automation level last

Automation level is the easiest variable to change. Most workshops start with a semi‑automatic line and upgrade to fully automatic plasma cutting and pittsburgh seaming once the order book justifies it. SBKJ designs every line with that upgrade path in mind so you can scale incrementally without replacing the whole platform.

  • Manual entry: lockformer + plate shears
  • Semi‑auto: SBAL‑III + plasma cutter
  • Fully auto: SBAL‑V or RDL‑II turnkey cell

Industries served

Where SBKJ Duct Machinery is Working Today

Different end‑markets demand different duct standards, materials and reinforcement. SBKJ machines are commissioned for all of them.

Commercial & high‑rise HVAC

Office towers, hotels, malls and mixed‑use developments. Typically TDF rectangular duct in 0.6–1.0 mm galvanised steel built on SBAL‑V or SBAL‑III lines, with spiral round runs for retail concourses.

Airports, metros & rail

Terminal HVAC, jet‑bridge ventilation, metro tunnel ventilation and station pressurisation. Heavy‑gauge SMACNA duct on multi‑line SBAL‑V cells plus large‑diameter SBTF‑1500 and SBTF‑2020 spiral lines.

Data centres & cleanrooms

Hyperscale data centres, semiconductor fabs, pharma cleanrooms and hospitals. Stainless steel and aluminium spiral duct from SBTF lines, plus low‑leakage rectangular duct from SBAL‑V with class‑C seams.

Industrial & food processing

Factories, warehouses, food & beverage and chemical plants. Heavier 1.0–1.5 mm GI or SS304 duct, often with gas‑tight welded seams from SBKJ stitch welders and seam welders.

Tunnel & mining ventilation

Road tunnels, mines and underground utilities. Large‑diameter spiral duct from SBTF‑1500 / 2020 plus flexible duct from SBLR‑600 lines for short‑run tunnel face ventilation.

Marine & offshore

Ship HVAC, offshore platforms and FPSO vessels. Stainless and galvanised duct on SBAL lines with corrosion‑resistant fittings, often integrated with SBKJ welding cells for marine‑grade seams.

Common questions

Buyers Frequently Ask

Short answers to the questions our engineers hear most often during a first quotation. For a deeper technical discussion, send us your project specification.

Which auto duct line should I start with?

If your daily rectangular duct demand is below about 400 m² and you are upgrading from manual fabrication, the SBAL‑III is the most common starting point. It includes plasma cutting, pittsburgh seaming and TDF flanging on a single platform but at a lower capital cost than SBAL‑V. Above 600 m²/day or when you need very short job changeover, step up to SBAL‑V.

Can I produce both round and rectangular duct on one line?

No — round (spiral) and rectangular duct use fundamentally different forming processes and tooling. Most SBKJ customers run a spiral tubeformer (SBTF series) alongside an auto duct line (SBAL series) so they can quote either geometry without subcontracting. The two machines share material storage and shipping flow, so the workshop layout stays compact.

Do the machines support SMACNA, EN 1505 and AS/NZS 4254?

Yes. Tell us the standard on your enquiry and SBKJ will configure the tooling, PLC recipes and seam types to match. SMACNA projects typically use Pittsburgh + TDF + cross‑break, EN 1505 uses slide‑on flange with class‑B leakage limits, and AS/NZS 4254 uses S‑cleat or TDF with reinforcement bracing. All three are routine for SBKJ.

What material thickness can the SBKJ lines handle?

Most rectangular duct lines run 0.5–1.5 mm galvanised or stainless steel. Spiral tubeformers handle 0.4–1.2 mm depending on diameter. For 1.5 mm and above, we often add an additional pre‑bender or use the SBTF‑2020 heavy‑duty platform. Always send the actual material grade and gauge so the engineer can confirm.

How long does delivery and commissioning take?

Standard SBAL and SBTF machines ship from Jiangyin in 60–90 days. Commissioning on customer site usually takes 5–10 working days for a single line, including operator training and first‑article duct production against your project standard. SBKJ field engineers travel to all 80+ countries we serve.

What warranty and after‑sales support is included?

Every SBKJ machine ships with a 12‑month standard warranty on mechanical and electrical components. After‑sales support includes remote troubleshooting within 72 hours, original spare parts and consumables, and preventive maintenance recommendations from the engineer who commissioned your line.
