Why visit the SBKJ stand at ARBS 2026
ARBS is the only Australian trade show where the engineering team that designs and builds HVAC ductwork machinery is on the floor for three full days — running real coil through real machines, answering real specification questions, and giving real numbers on lead times, freight and installation supervision. Most equipment buyers do their evaluation across PDF brochures and Zoom calls. ARBS is the rare chance to put your hand on the cassette holder, watch a sheet feed through the lockformer, and ask the welder what tolerance he holds on the 1,500 mm rectangular section.
If you are evaluating a new spiral tubeformer, planning a workshop expansion, or comparing auto duct production lines from multiple suppliers, three days at ARBS is the cheapest engineering due diligence you can buy.
What’s on the stand
SBKJ runs three live demonstrations on a rolling 30-minute cycle across the three show days. Schedule announced two weeks before the show.
1. SBTF series spiral tubeformer (live operation)
- Diameter range on display: 80 mm to 800 mm round duct — covering the bulk of commercial HVAC supply and return air specifications.
- Coil: 137 mm slit galvanised steel coil, 0.5–1.0 mm thickness range. Live coil change demonstration twice daily.
- Cutting: Flying-shear cutting on the demo unit — cleanest cut quality available without saw-blade tooling cost.
- Seam: Standard mandrel-formed lockseam meeting AS/NZS 4254 leakage class C.
- Output: Up to 30 m/min depending on diameter and gauge. Single operator.
2. SBAL-V auto duct production line (sectional demo)
- Configuration: Coil-to-finished-rectangular-section in one continuous flow — decoiler, sheet feed, notch and corner punch, lockformer, fold station, TDF flange integration.
- Section size: Up to 1,500 mm wide, 0.6–1.5 mm gauge.
- Cycle time: Standard rectangular section in approximately 3 minutes from coil to crated finished duct.
- Control: Siemens S7-1500 PLC with HMI in English. Cut list import from Revit MEP and CAMduct supported — bring a sample fab file and we will run it on the stand.
- Pressure class: Outputs SMACNA pressure class 1–6 in. wg and AS/NZS 4254 high-pressure series ductwork.
3. TDF flange former (table demo)
- What it does: Roll-forms a TDF flange directly into the rectangular duct edge — eliminates the welded angle iron flange that adds 8–12 kg per joint.
- Standards: AS/NZS 4254 high-pressure and SMACNA seal class A compliant when paired with the matched corner clip and gasket.
- Speed: Approximately 4 m/min on 1.0 mm galvanised steel.
- Demo: Live forming demonstration on 30 cm samples; visitors take home a flanged offcut.
Private engineering consultations
SBKJ runs 30-minute private consultations on the stand throughout the three show days. Consultations are led by an SBKJ engineer with a structured agenda:
- Project brief (5 min) — coil spec, throughput target, market and standards.
- Machine match (10 min) — specific SBKJ model recommendation, footprint, utility requirements.
- Indicative landed cost (10 min) — machine price, freight to your port, installation supervision days, training scope.
- Next steps (5 min) — FAT timeline, factory visit options, contract milestones.
Consultations are free and non-binding. Most buyers leave with an indicative landed-cost worksheet they can take into a board meeting the following week. Book a slot in advance — weekday morning slots fill first.
Pre-show preparation — what to bring
If you want to extract maximum value from a 30-minute consultation, bring three pieces of information:
- Your current coil specification. Width, thickness, material, supplier mill cert if available. Without this we are guessing at output.
- Your target throughput. Square metres of duct per shift, or linear metres per hour, or sections per day — whichever metric your shop tracks.
- Your standards reference. AS/NZS 4254 for Australia; specify pressure class. SMACNA for export to North America. EN 1505/1506 for Europe. The standard determines tolerance, gauge mapping and seal class.
Optional but useful: a sample Revit MEP cut list, a workshop floor plan in PDF, your current bottleneck description, and any specific spare-parts or warranty questions you want addressed in writing.
Pre-show factory tours at Box Hill North
For buyers in Australia or visiting from overseas before the show, SBKJ offers private factory tours at the Box Hill North, VIC facility in the eight weeks leading into ARBS 2026. Tours run Tuesdays and Thursdays and include:
- 90-minute production floor walkthrough — coil receiving, machining, assembly, integration, FAT bay.
- Live machine operation against your nominated coil specification (bring a 5 kg sample or we provide stock).
- Private engineering consultation in the conference room — same agenda as the ARBS booth slot.
- Optional lunch with the SBKJ engineering team in Box Hill.
Email sales@sbkjduct.com with your preferred date and we will respond within one business day. Tours are limited to two parties per day.
About ARBS 2026
ARBS is the largest air conditioning, refrigeration and building services exhibition in the Asia-Pacific region, run biennially by AIRAH (Australian Institute of Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Heating) and ARBS Exhibitions Ltd. ARBS 2026 is held at International Convention Centre Sydney from Tuesday 19 May to Thursday 21 May 2026. Registration is free for industry visitors at arbs.com.au.
The show typically attracts 250+ exhibitors and 10,000+ visitors across the three days, drawn from HVAC contracting, building services consulting, facilities management, equipment manufacturing, refrigeration and the wider building automation industry. ARBS Speak runs a parallel education programme of CPD-accredited technical sessions.

Frequently asked questions
Will SBKJ have a Mandarin-speaking engineer on the stand?
Yes. The SBKJ stand has English and Mandarin-speaking engineers across the three show days. Other languages can be arranged with 48 hours’ notice — email sales@sbkjduct.com if you need French, Spanish, Arabic, Korean, Vietnamese or Indonesian language support during a private consultation.
Can SBKJ ship a demo machine to my workshop after the show?
The ARBS demo machines return to Box Hill North after the show. New machines for buyer delivery are built to order against the buyer’s coil specification — standard lead time is 90–120 days from order confirmation including FAT. For urgent projects, SBKJ holds a small inventory of standard SBTF spiral tubeformers ready for ex-stock dispatch from Melbourne.
What happens after a booth consultation?
Within 5 business days of the show, the SBKJ engineer who hosted your consultation sends a written technical clarification, an indicative landed-cost worksheet for your destination port, and a draft project timeline. If you want to progress, the next step is a Factory Acceptance Test booking and contract negotiation against the standard SBKJ commercial terms.
Does SBKJ exhibit at other trade shows?
Yes. SBKJ exhibits at AHR Expo (North America), Mostra Convegno Expocomfort (Italy), Big 5 Construct (Saudi Arabia and UAE), and Climate World Russia. Show dates and stand details are published at contact.html as confirmed.
